A Soaked Turkey

Pictured at left is me after running my first 10K! There is the gift of accomplishment on my face. A well earned feeling that only comes from training. That's what I love about running. In order to go distance you must put in the time and dedication to building up your stamina. In this race there were 10, 623 runners. As I stood in the crowd waiting to run I couldn't help but think that all of these people were of like minds; into health and feeling fit. I loved that I was a part of that crowd and felt proud to be there. I dedicate time every day to exercise and eating healthfully. I read books, research nutrition, all of this has been a life quest to have better body image and love myself more. In my childhood and as a young adult I had very poor self esteem, so now I feel exhilarated that I have finally overcome these challenges.
The key- as Nike says, "Just do it". I find that many people say they want to get healthy, or they say they want to lose weight but do nothing about it other than talk. I am writing this as encouragement to you. As you're reading this my hope is for you to get motivated to start moving your body. You'll be wonderfully surprised at not only how great your body will look but more importantly how you will feel about yourself. Commiting to a fitness goal will provide you incredible feelings of self confidence and tenacity that you will use in other areas of your life. Go get 'em!
